Here we go!
Curtains down for 2019… A crazy year for me… From the ups to the downs to the ups and then down again; the year gave me mixed emotions and trained me to be an ultramarathoner! 4700 km in 2019! Even I was surprised…

Looking at the highs; Mumbai was good to me, did my first stadium run, then conquered the rough Sydney marathon route and Malnad ultra… They were good and satisfactory… And the pacing assignments I did – enjoyed all of them…
The lows; they were heartbreaking… Ooty ultra, I just screwed up the nutrition; and the other three procam runs – Bangalore, ADHM, Kolkata – what was I thinking? I was not trained for them and still I ran… I sucked in the shorter and faster races all because I took the pace off in the training… That was disappointing… And the last thing I wanted was an injury and it came in the form of the old knee troubles… The pain in the left knee – it was a disaster waiting to happen and popped up at the end of the year for me to deal with and the cold winter is not helping me with it!
For all the ups and downs, I loved 2019… I got to travel a lot, meet new people, running different places… It was fun and fulfilling…

To me, I want 2020 to be different… I want to focus on quality more than quantity and no to chase after PBs… I don’t want to take the fun out of running by setting unrealistic goals… Selective races and more structured training… Yet, all I could think is I will be running more and more ๐…
2020 is the year of Olympics, it’s a leap year… This is going to be special one…
