Rain, Run and Falling Sick: A Monsoon Story

Here is me complaining more about the rainy season!

In Delhi we had a hard Summer with boiling heat in May/June and ultimate humidity in July/August. When we first hard rains in August, some of us were thrilled. Finally an end to humidity… but no! The suffering continued with unpredictable weather and the humidity levels going record high!

And, when the monsoon finally sets it with regular rains dropping the temperature, we though- finally, cooler weather conditions! Nope… we were in for further suffering with nonstop rains flooding the roads and trails and causing disruptions… And, then it got worse, the rain-related illness… The flu, the cold, and what not… Last Sunday I missed my long run because of fever… Now, I am typing this with a sore throat – that comes after doing a round of ‘mold treatment’ in the house couple of days ago… And mold – another present from the monsoon!

Ok, the old ‘love running in rain’ statements… no more!

Enough of this seasonal disruptions!
