The Delhi Half Marathon is back… and here begins the new season!

So, the Delhi half marathon is back! Ever since getting my first bib in 2013 (after moving to Delhi in 2012), i never missed an official on-ground DHM. From ADHM to VDHM, it’s been 10 years!

Delhi half usually kick starts the racing season this part of the world and also the testing ground of the summer and monsoon training.

This is the first time in 6 years I have trained religiously for a half marathon. Last time i was 1005 committed was in 2017 when i had a 1:45:10 and that is still my personal best. Between that and 2021, my has been in marathons and ultramarathons – managing few success in ultra trail as well.

After deciding to get back some leg speed in 2021 – after a series of unfortunate injuries – this is the first training block that has managed to raise my confidence and a hope in breaking a 6 year old personal best.

That also means the pressure! The pressure to perform! I have run countless races and pre-race nerves are new to me. But this one feels different! Did i put too much pressure on me? Am i expecting too much from me?

All i can do is not doing anything stupid for the next 30 hours and show up at the start line and remember the hard work in training!

Hope my legs remembers!
