Getting out of the house on a hot, humid morning is a win!

The rains in Delhi never seems to end. With occasional rain and heat and humid rest of the time, the weather is craziest ever.

Ever since the summer started I have been planning to get up at 4, start run at 5 and later relax. But with this humidity it doesn’t matter if i run at 5 or 7. So, the motivation for am early morning run is the lowest ever.

With the Delhi half marathon coming, I need my trainings done as planned and go to office twice a week (all those WFH days are over 😦 ). So, when i miss a morning run, i tend to cheat it over a treadmill. Though lot of people consider treadmill runs and genuine training mode, I find it a way to cheat and not a proper run. I need my runs outside.

This week has been a tough one for me. Can’t get up early on Mondays, then a cold and fatigue on next days and after three days of indoor runs, i felt like i have not been running for days. So, on thursday, my intervals day, I decided today i am going to step out for the run, no more indoor shenanigans. Not running outside for three days has given me enough motivation to get up at 4:30 and step out at 5:30; and had an amazing workout.

More than the workout itself, i consider that early morning run as win! Yes, I won over the weather and lack of motivation. Lifted my spirits up for the rest of the day!
