
So, the Delhi Half Marathon is back in town. The history ADHM is back again with a new sponsor making it VDHM. Old wine in new bottle and doesn’t make much difference anyway.
And doesn’t make much difference to me either. For the 5th year in a row (3rd attempt skipping two years of pandemic), I will running it without proper training. Last time I had trained and raced ADHM was in 2017 and I clocked 1:45:10 then and still my personal best in half marathon. It is a bit annoying that I couldn’t beat that yet.
Well my focus had shifted to marathons and ultra marathons and I have ignored shorter distances. In 2018, I ran AHDM after my first ultra – Malnad Ultra, in 2019, again it was after a marathon and between an ultra training and I was not 100% ready! Come 2022 when the races are back, I am coming after my Comrades and an injury!
I will have to focus on another race this year or early next year to get this monkey off my back!
